SWI Compute Debuts With Plans for NVIDIA AI Factories Across Europe

SWI Compute, a new AI infrastructure company within Euronext Amsterdam-listed SWI Group, emerged from stealth on October 26, 2026, announcing plans to build and operate NVIDIA AI factories starting in Europe, backed by 3.6 gigawatts of power capacity and approximately $1 billion in NVIDIA systems orders.
The company became a Preferred NVIDIA Cloud Partner in August 2026 and has finalized contracts with its first customers, according to its launch announcement. SWI Compute said it will deploy globally, with its strongest presence and deployments in Europe.
CEO Halil Mirakhmedov described energy availability as the primary bottleneck facing European AI infrastructure, noting that SWI Group spent six years acquiring grid access. “Just two months after joining the NVIDIA Cloud Partner program, our team secured approximately $1 billion in advanced hardware orders and executed initial client contracts,” he said, adding that the market continues to surpass available capacity.
First UK Factory and 2029 Roadmap
SWI Compute’s first large-scale AI factory, in the UK, starts with 30 MW of capacity, close to 7,000 Rubin GPUs and 3,500 Vera CPUs in NVIDIA Vera Rubin NVL72 racks, and is expected to come online by the end of 2027. The company identifies Cambridge as the site of that first factory. The racks are connected by NVIDIA Quantum-X800 InfiniBand and NVIDIA Spectrum-X Ethernet networking.
The 30 MW buildout is the initial phase of a UK campus planned to grow to 530 MW and, the company said, the first step toward 2.3 GW of NVIDIA AI factory capacity by 2029.
DSX Platform and Systems Partners
Every SWI Compute site is built to NVIDIA reference architectures. Going forward, the company will design, build and operate its AI factories with the full-stack NVIDIA DSX AI Factory Platform, which codesigns compute, networking, power and cooling as one integrated system. Every new site from 2027, starting with the UK campus, will follow the NVIDIA Vera Rubin DSX AI Factory reference design. SWI Compute said DSX can enable up to 40% more GPU capacity within the same power budget on Vera Rubin NVL72.
The first deployment runs NVIDIA Blackwell Ultra systems, with NVIDIA Vera CPU racks to follow. From NVIDIA’s OEM and ODM ecosystem, SWI Compute selected Delta Computers as systems integrator, alongside storage partners it described as industry-recognized, to deliver more than 8,000 GPUs.
Nico Caprez, vice president of global AI infrastructure growth at NVIDIA, said SWI Compute, built on NVIDIA reference architectures and adopting DSX for its next generation of AI factories, is building infrastructure able to serve new customers and workloads and keep generating value for years to come.
Customers and SWI Group’s Power Foundation
SWI Compute provides dedicated and on-demand access to NVIDIA AI factories for Europe’s AI natives, AI labs and enterprises, close to their users and data and under European jurisdiction. Its first customer, a US-based AI inference platform, has contracted capacity. The company said much of Europe’s AI building has so far run on capacity outside Europe, and that existing capacity has been committed first to global hyperscalers and frontier labs able to sign multi-year contracts at scale, leaving smaller AI natives with the hardest time securing it.
The company said an AI factory’s earnings rest on its token output per megawatt, the number of years its systems keep producing, and the range of work they can take on. Ongoing software optimization extends the earning life of installed systems for years after they ship, according to the company, and a single infrastructure base supports every phase of AI work, from pretraining through agentic inference, as well as simulation, data processing and scientific computing.
SWI Group began investing in land, power and shell in 2020. It holds 3.6 GW of power capacity across Europe and the US, with five European campuses in Ireland, the UK, Denmark, Spain and Italy, one of them already leased to a major hyperscaler. The Group develops its own sites from grid connection to commissioning, and SWI Compute said it has access to up to 3.6 GW of power capacity across 24 sites.
Founder and CEO Max-Hervé George described SWI Compute as the final piece of the Group’s stack. “SWI Group is now a transatlantic, vertically integrated digital infrastructure company, from the grid connection to the GPU,” he said.
SWI Compute provides compute services alongside AiOnX’s European campuses and SWI Digital’s US data centers, completing the Group’s AI stack. SWI Group, formed through the merger of Icona and Stoneweg, allocates more than 80% of its capital to digital infrastructure.
Starting in the fourth quarter of 2027, SWI Compute’s next generation of AI campuses across Europe is scheduled to come online, with thousands of GPUs planned for deployment.
